A trip that will go down in history

The crew of this second commercial flight included three space tourists. And all of them had a special story that made this trip a historic achievement for the company.

Keisha Schahaff (46) and her daughter Anastatia Mayers (18) won in a lottery the opportunity to live this unique experience. Originally from the small island of Antigua, the health and wellness coach and the philosophy and physics student became the first people from the Caribbean to embark on a space voyage.

But the historic milestone of their participation in this flight does not end there. Keisha and Anastatia were the first mother and daughter to go into space. Anastasia also became the second youngest person to participate in space travel.

The third crew member also made his mark. Jon Goodwin, 80, became the first Olympic athlete and the second person with Parkinson's to go into space. A former British Olympian, Goodwin was part of the canoeing team at the 1972 Olympics.

They were joined on board by astronaut and chief instructor Beth Moses, commander CJ Sturckow and pilot Kelly Latimer.

When and how long the next voyages will last

Virgin Galactic has not yet confirmed any new space tourism trips. However, billionaire Richard Branson's company plans to offer monthly trips in the future.

Prices have also not yet been confirmed. The only information we have is that, in November 2021, tickets for one of the company's space tourism trips will cost $450,000. However, prices may change.
