A lot. A lot of brightness. If the information from Twitter user Ice Universe is correct, the Galaxy S24 Ultra could have an OLED display with a maximum brightness of 2,500 nits. To give you an idea, the S23 had a maximum brightness of 1,750 nits, 750 nits less than its successor.

If the information is confirmed, the S24 will have a brightness equivalent to that of the OPPO Find X6 Pro, will be well above the iPhone 14 Pro Max, and will only lose by 100 nits compared to the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, which reaches a brightness of 2,600.

From the various rumors from generally reliable sources, so far it is believed that the general specifications of the S24 will be:

  • 78-inch 2x Dynamic AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution (3,120 x 1,440 pixels), 19.5:9 aspect ratio and peak brightness of 2,500 nits
  • Titanium body
  • Enhanced 50 MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom
  • Exynos 2400 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor
  • 16 GB RAM
  • Satellite connectivity for emergencies
  • S Pen with 5,000 mAh battery and 45W fast charging

It is important to note that the information has not yet been confirmed by Samsung.

What can OLED technology have to offer?

OLED panels produced by Samsung Display make it possible to reduce the so-called bezels, i.e. the black borders around the device's display. In addition, the technology also provides a noticeable improvement in image quality and the possibility of producing flexible and transparent displays in various formats.

Acronym for "Organic Light-Emitting Diode", OLED technology forms images from self-emitting light pixels. As a result, OLED avoids the backlighting seen in LCD displays and makes it possible to create panels and displays with true black and much more vivid colors.
