Format a locked Samsung phone in two ways.
The procedure can be performed even when the device is locked, that is, even if you forget the password or access pattern. It is called hard reset, it is done via the physical buttons.
Whoever remembers the password can reset the smartphone through the Android system settings. The important thing is, whenever possible, to make a backup of the phone so as not to lose anything when formatting. But, don't worry Here we will explain all that!
1- How to format your Samsung phone (hard reset)
The hard reset, also known as force restore, allows you to format your Samsung phone even with it turned off. This means that it is the ideal option for those who have forgotten the password or the access pattern.
It is worth remembering that the procedure erases not only the settings, but also all user data. In order not to be caught by surprise, it is ideal to have the smartphone backup always up to date.
The manufacturer does not recommend that users of Android 5.1 or higher who do not know the email and Gmail password registered on the device perform the procedure. In these cases, unlocking must be performed at a Samsung restore center.
Finally, the cell phone needs to be at least 60% charged. If you agree with all the above information, take a look at the step-by-step below.
- With the device turned off, press the volume up and power buttons for a few seconds;
- The screen will turn on once and then turn off. When it turns on a second time, release the power button. The volume up button should remain pressed until the image of the Android system robot symbol appears;
- A list of options will now appear. In all the following instructions, use the volume buttons to navigate through the items and the power button to select them. Following these instructions, go to Wipe data/ factory reset and select the option;
- Next, go to Yes wipe all user data and select the item. All information will then be erased;
- Now it is time to reboot the system. To do this, go to Reboot system now and select the option.
Okay, now wait for the device to turn on.
