Apple's long-awaited Wonderlust event took place yesterday, September 12. As expected, the company presented the new iPhone 15 line. Among the other news of the evening were the Apple Watch Series 9, the Apple Watch Ultra 2, ecological accessories and the announcement of the release date of new system updates operational.

iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus
The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus were officially presented. With 6.1 and 6.7 inch screens respectively and up to 2,000 nits of brightness, the two models are made of aluminum and glass. The novelty in terms of design are the five different colors: blue, pink, green, black and yellow.
The line will feature the advanced A16 Bionic chip. The camera system is another novelty: the iPhone 15 has a new system with a 48 MP lens, capable of absorbing more light for photos and offering a 2x optical zoom. Although the quad pixel technology still means that the image output is 12MP, the images generated will be sharper and clearer. Additionally, Apple uses Photonic Engine to provide more details.
In the United States, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus with 128 GB of storage cost between US$799 and US$899.
iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max
Without a doubt the most anticipated launch of the event, the iPhone 15 Pro range confirmed the specifications that had been rumored for a year. The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max feature 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays respectively, Dynamic Island cutout, ProMotion, Always-On display technology, and ultra-thin edges. The design also innovates by using brush-textured grade 5 titanium.
One of the most anticipated developments and the subject of so many rumors has also been confirmed: the iPhone 15 Pro line will incorporate the new A17 Pro chip. The new technology has 19 billion transistors, a 3 nm manufacturing process, 4-core CPU of performance and a 6-core CPU, capable of making the device's performance and efficiency up to 20% faster than the previous generation.
The chip also features a new 6-core GPU with hardware-accelerated ray tracing, which is up to 4 times better than software ray tracing. The new neural engine allows the chip to perform 35 trillion operations per second.
The Pro version of the new iPhone 15 will also have the new 48 MP lens system, with technology that absorbs more light for photos and 2x optical zoom.
Apple Watch Series 9
In addition to the new line of iPhones, the Wonderlust event also introduced the new Apple Watch Series 9. Available in 41mm and 45mm, the new models have a screen with up to 2,000 nits of brightness, but reaching a brightness of up to 1 nit for low light environments.
Those who have been waiting for the new generation of Apple Watches can now get excited. The new line incorporates the new S9 chip, which has 5.6 billion transistors, 60% more than its predecessor. Additionally, the S9's GPU is 30% faster and has a 4-core neural engine, which is also twice as fast as previous models.
The new ultra-wideband processor incorporates a new U2 chip, which should improve the user's relationship with the personal assistant Siri. In addition, by bringing the Apple Watch closer to the HomePode, it will be possible to access Apple Music and "send" the music you want to listen to directly to the speaker.
The aluminum models will be available in pink, Starlight, silver, midnight and PRODUCT(RED). The stainless steel watches will be available in gold, silver and graphite. During the presentation, Apple also emphasized that the Apple Watch Series 9 is its first device made with a low carbon footprint, using highly recycled material.
Apple Watch Ultra 2
The Apple Watch Ultra 2 maintains a similar design to its predecessor. What's new is performance technology. Also equipped with the new S9 chip and the U2 chip, the new version of the device will also have much faster performance and significantly improved interaction with the Siri virtual assistant.
Like the new Apple Watch Series 9, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 will feature a gesture system, allowing users to hang up or answer calls with just two taps. The screen will have a new architecture and up to 3,000 nits of brightness.
The device comes equipped with Siri, which means the virtual assistant will work even without an internet connection. The battery will last up to 36 hours, which can be extended up to 72 hours of use in low power mode.
Eco-friendly accessories and USB-C
USB-C charging accessories have arrived. Following a requirement for the model in the European Union, Apple updated its iPhone charging cases and its AirDrops Pro 2, which will now feature USB-C MagSafe.
The company also updated the material of its accessories to the eco-friendly FineWoven.
OS updates have a release date
As the various test versions that reached developers were already advanced, the release dates of its software updates were also announced at the Apple event.
iOS 17, iPadOS 17, watchOS 10, and tvOS 17 will launch on September 18. The AirPods Pro 2 also received an update that will allow the device to unlock several of the new features of iOS 17. macOS 14 Sonoma, in turn, is scheduled to launch on September 26.
