Elon Musk vs. Mark Zuckerberg: you can watch the fight live on X

The impending fight between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg will be streamed live on X, the former Twitter. Musk himself, the current owner of X, one of the largest social networks on the web, has confirmed this.

The physical showdown between the two current biggest competitors in the social networking scene seems to have started as a joke or a challenge/provocation, but has turned into something bigger. The event has taken on a playful nature and all proceeds from its rebroadcast will be donated to veterans' organizations.

Twitter vs Threads or Musk vs Zuckerberg?

Tech entrepreneur and businessman Elon Musk was already known for being founder, CEO and CTO of SpaceX; vice chairman of OpenAI; CEO of Tesla, Inc; founder and CEO of Neuralink; and co-founder and chairman of SolarCity. As of October 2022, he has added to this discrete list the title of owner of Twitter.

Since then, the changes and problems that Twitter, now X, has gone through have elicited a lot of negative feedback from users. Layoffs, the creation of premium accounts (where users can pay to have their account labeled as certified) and the recent name and logo change have been some of Musk's most questioned actions.

On the other side of the ring is Mark Zuckerberg, the mogul and entrepreneur who co-founded Facebook and Meta Platforms, and current owner of Instagram. Amid complaints about Musk's X, Zuckerberg launched Threads, a new social network to compete with the old Twitter.

Thereafter, and following the immediate success Threads had among disgruntled Twitter users, the two entrepreneurs began to mock each other on social media. And what started as a "joke" looks like it's about to step into the ring.

Training in full swing

The date of the showdown between Musk and Zuckerberg has not yet been confirmed. But both have been sharing information about their training on their social networks. In the post above, made on X, Musk joked:

"I'm lifting weights during the day, getting ready for combat. I don't have time to work out, so I bring the weights to work."

Despite the joke, the entrepreneur has also trained with former fighter and UFC legend Georges St. Pierre. He even admitted that he needs to train for the fight.

Zuckerberg, meanwhile, recently posted an image showing him training alongside UFC champions Israel Adesanya (middleweight) and Alexander Volkanovski (featherweight).

Dana White, president of the UFC league, has stated that the fight between Zuckerberg and Musk will be announced as soon as the two participants agree on a date.
